Raducanu reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her remaining competitions this season due to a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations will involve coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the final set against Zhu because of back discomfort that has troubled her during parts of the season.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after more than three years since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved 28 victories in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
