Iran Claims Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
